Belarus Twinning Project Kick Off – Strengthening the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus


The new EU Belarus Twinning project will help the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations to strengthen its capacity in addressing existing and emerging disaster risks. It will support the ministry in improving its civil protection and disaster risk management services by applying best practices used in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and its events are prescribed to be split into 4 target components.

The 2-year project involves 27 experts from Austria and 16 experts from Finland, representing government authorities, fire-fighting and emergency response services, research as well as educational institutions.

The specific objective of this project is to improve civil protection and disaster risk management services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus by applying best practices from the EU Member States in implementation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
